Sustainability is not a choice, it is a responsibility. At Mayfield, we take our responsibility to steward the earth’s natural resources as carefully as possible so you can enjoy your new deck knowing you are also helping contribute towards a greener world. We are also passionate about wildlife conservation and protecting our beautiful beaches, countryside and environment. We work closely with several national charities to support environmental causes.
We support Surfers Against Sewage – a campaign that hopes to tackle plastic pollution and protect the UK’s coastlines.
We are pleased to partner with (THG) More Trees. For every aluminium deck purchased, we plant 3 trees.
Since 2005, The Mayfield Group has sponsored The Bumblebee Conservation Trust and works closely with the charity to raise important funds.
We pride ourselves on our sustainable approach to decking. We adopt our own 3 ‘R’s approach – Recycle, Reduce and Responsible!

Aluminium Sub Frames
At Mayfield, we take the environment very seriously and are aware of the issues facing our planet, especially where plastics are concerned. We’re proud to share how in all materials we use, we are constantly looking for more sustainable alternatives and processes.
Our Deck Boards are manufactured from 80% recycled materials instead of virgin grade plastics. At the end of their life, they can be recycled again so there is no need to send them to landfill. While the timber that we use is sustainably sourced, we are also making an active effort to reduce the amount of timber used in Mayfield decks. Our latest development, Aluminium Deck Subframes, have a longer lifespan than its timber alternative and doesn’t affect the overall quality of the finish. The material is strong, dependable and is helping to reduce our impact on the environment. Click here to find out more.

Our 3 R’s Process
At Mayfield we’re passionate about our carbon footprint. We’ve been hard at work developing a process we call the 3 R’s to ensure we are doing our upmost to be an environmentally friendly manufacturer.
Sustainability throughout all of our Products
Our materials are made from up to 80% recycled raw materials during the manufacturing process. Using recycled materials does not affect the quality in anyway and they carry the same structural benefits as virgin materials. We use recycled materials in our products as a conscious measure to improve our environment as we value the world we live in.
Using recycled plastic reduces energy consumption by 66%.
The materials used to make our products are 100% recyclable.
tonnes of oil are saved for every tonne of recycled polythene produced.
We use FSC timber to form the substructures on our decks as it is a sustainable material sourced from well-managed forests. Using timber in construction locks away carbon for long periods. Even when wood is eventually recycled, it releases its carbon back into the atmosphere within a relatively short time. Therefore timber, being relatively newly grown and then returned directly to nature, is in effect carbon neutral.
We are 100% committed to our sustainable approach as a business.

The Mayfield Group have switched to renewable sources of energy to power our factory in Poole. The installation of solar panels was simple and surprisingly affordable and provides enough energy to run the entire site as well as E-Charging stations for our EV fleet and EV site vehicles.
