The variety, working with stimulating people and innovative products in a vibrant industry
What’s your favourite project that you’ve worked on at Mayfield?
There have been many, but a few stand out.
The sky decks at Sandhills near Christchurch were particularly special. These are two-tier decks that wrap around a lodge with stairs leading up to a rooftop deck. At Sandhills, which is virtually on the beach, the rooftop deck overlooks the sea with spectacular views.
Another was at Sandy Balls in the New Forest, where we built a luxury two-tier sun deck with a kitchen and two hot tubs. It featured infinity glass with no visible posts, creating uninterrupted views across a wooded valley. With LED lighting in the kitchen, it completely transforms at night.
Shorefield’s Jubilee Gardens is another highlight, where we pioneered luxury kitchens and larger two-level decks in an exclusive development.
Greenhill Farm in the New Forest also stands out. These wraparound decks with hot tubs overlook the forest, with wildlife often wandering past. It’s about creating a lifestyle and bringing the indoors outside, giving customers a space to make lasting memories and enhance their holiday experience.

Le Mans 66. It’s a story about teamwork, overcoming challenges and winning through determination. It reflects working life – success comes from collaboration, resilience and producing a quality result.
What do you like to do for fun outside of work?
I am a volunteer Enterprise Advisor working with local Schools and Young Enterprise helping Year 10 and 11 students prepare for working life with skills such as CV writing and interview technique. It is extremely rewarding as well as being a lot of fun. To relax, I enjoy cooking for my family and friends and watching motorsport.

A racing driver at first. Later, I wanted to work in sales and eventually run a business. I progressed through sales roles into leadership and feel fortunate to have achieved many of the goals I set for myself, working alongside great people along the way.
Who would you like to have a car share with?
Laurel and Hardy – they’d make the whole journey entertaining.
