Choosing the right Composite Decking Colours

Published on May 19, 2020

So, you are planning to install composite decking for your garden or uPVC decking for your static caravan, you’ve decided where to lay the deck and you’ve picked all the decking accessories you need. The next decision – sometimes the most difficult to make – is to choose from our composite decking colours.

First, what composite decking colours are available?

Our Hampton Decking boards come in the following six colours, all chosen due to their versatility and ability to complement natural surroundings. Please note, our Focus Decking is only available in our eye-catching driftwood colour.

Brown is commonly associated with nature and earth, making it a perfect choice for outdoor decking. This darker, richer shade comes across as classy and luxurious.

Our lighter brown option also gives a natural connotation and typically compliments the greens and browns in the average garden.

Cornish Cream uPVC Decking

Cornish Cream has always been one of our most popular decking colours, giving off a modern and clean look. This colour is the most versatile and works well with other colours.

Dolphin Grey uPVC Decking

Grey is very ‘in’ right now. This lighter shade of Grey is a perfect medium between black and white. Create a sophisticated outdoor space with our Dolphin Grey uPVC decking boards.

The darker Kimmeridge Grey uPVC deck boards give a very sleek look to your outdoor living space. This grey creates a great contrast with other lighter colours.

Seamist Green uPVC Decking

The Seamist Green is more popular with static caravans and holiday lodges, as this light green can add a little character to a holiday home.

Why choose uPVC decking from Mayfield? Our uPVC decking is 100% recyclable. One of the benefits of choosing uPVC decking over timber decking is that our decking requires minimal cleaning effort and is resistant to weathering and fading.

Choosing the right composite decking colours

How do you choose your Perfect Composite Decking Colours?

With our lifetime guarantee, you could be looking at this deck for decades! Ask yourself the following questions to help you choose the perfect colour for your decking.

Where will you be placing the deck?

It’s called a sundeck for a reason, right? If you are placing your decking in an area that receives a lot of direct sunlight and very little shade, you may want to avoid darker colours. Darker colours attract heat and you may become a little too warm – go for a lighter colour for more comfort.

Which colour will match other colours in my home and garden?

If you ask a landscape designer or gardener, they will say one of the keys to a beautiful outdoor space is a tight colour scheme. Think about what else is in your garden and opt for the composite decking colours that complement or contrast with these colours. You’ll definitely want to consider the colour of your home, as you don’t want an extended outdoor living space that looks out of place.

What colour would I like the accessories to be?

When designing your bespoke sundeck with The Mayfield Group, it is not just the decking boards that are available in the above colours. All of our uPVC decking accessories are created in our UK warehouse, so you could also customise your:

  • Decking lights colours
  • Decking balustrades colours
  • Decking steps colours
  • Decking skirting colours

Take this into account and think about whether you want everything to be the same colour of it you would like to create some contrast – for instance, you could match a Kimmeridge Grey uPVC deck with some Coconut Brown uPVC Deck Balustrades.

What atmosphere am I trying to create?

Do you want your decking to look modern, sleek and luxurious? Or would you prefer to keep a natural, traditional, green atmosphere in your garden? Look through our uPVC deck board colours and decide which colours will give your outdoor space the atmosphere you are looking for.
